Recently, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Environmental Protection formulated Implementation Plan for Major Environmental Protection Technical Equipment and Product Industrialization Project, according to which, total industrial output of China’s environmental protection equipment will reach RMB 700 billion by 2016, and major environmental protection equipment will meet domestic market demands basically.
The Plan proposes that up to 2016, a batch of technical equipment and products in urgent need for haze, water pollution, heavy metal pollution and other major environment problems with great hazard and broader influence will be developed with great efforts for environmental protection technical equipment, technical innovation system will be improved, innovation capability will be increased, a batch of key public environmental protection technologies will be broke through and application and promotion of advanced and mature technology industry will be promoted on the basis that emission reduction of such binding indicators as sulfur oxide, nitric oxide, chemical oxygen demand and ammonia nitrogen.
Annual increase of manufacturing industry of environmental protection equipment stays above 20%, total industrial output of environmental protection equipment will reach RMB 700 billion and major environmental protection equipment will basically satisfy domestic market demands by 2016.
Market share of advanced environmental protection technical equipment is required to increase stably. By 2016, market share of advanced environmental protection technical equipment and products with high efficiency and low energy consumption will increase from about 10% to above 30%, enhancing international competition of superior products.
