June 5 is the 43rd World Environment Day and the theme for this year is “War against Pollution”. Party Committee and People’s Government of Neijiang Municipality launched a public campaign with the theme of “Low-Carbon Environmental Protection, We Are Acting” on Dazhou Square in Central District.
The campaign was jointly held by Neijiang Municipal Department of Environmental Protection Bureau and Women Union of Neijiang, aiming at advocating citizens to practice low-carbon environmental-protection lifestyle and at forming a satisfying social morality of everyone concerning about the society and protecting the environment. Mayor Yang Songbai, Deputy Mayor Tian Wenping and relevant leaders of municipal institutes attended the campaign and opened the campaign.
State Grid Neijiang Electric Power Supply Company has always been attaching great importance to environmental protection persisting in the concept of “Environmental Protection First”, proactively promoting coordinated development of economic construction and environmental protection and established environmental protection enterprises. It also organized young volunteers working in electric power from Marketing Department (Rural Power Department and Customer Service Center) to participate in the entire campaign.
During the campaign, young volunteers working in electric power and environmental protection volunteers form municipal enterprises and public institutions jointly initiated a proposal of practicing low-carbon environmental-protection lifestyle, and organized public signing. In the following concentrated campaign, young volunteers hang banners and showed display boards, set consultation desk for electricity using and environmental protection knowledge, patiently answered public consultation, passionately publicized scientific knowledge on power grid environmental protection, photovoltaic power generation, electromagnetic radiation and other relevant contents, answered hot questions concerning energy conservation and environmental protection which the public concerns as well as released campaign materials and souvenirs to consulting citizens.
According to statistics, in the campaign, more than 800 copies of various campaign materials had been released to passersby and 26 electricity users were received for business consultation on site, not only enhancing awareness of company staff on environmental protection but also motivating public passion on participating in electric power environmental protection.
